Today was my 3-hour fasting glucose test. Yay! The glucose test I took last week came out a little high and so I had to come back to do the more intensive 3 hour test.
Here's what happens: No food for at least 8 hours, only water. You start off getting poked, then you have to drink a whole bottle of sugary stuff. The only flavor I got to try so far was orange. I don't mind it too much because I love sugar. It would be even better if they served it to you with some shaved ice. It's practically the same as the shave ice syrup. You have 5 minutes to tank it down and then you return to the waiting room to wait for an hour. You aren't supposed to move very much and you can only drink water if you are super thirsty. At an hour you get drawn again and repeat this 2 more times. A total of 4 draws. I was half way through Twighlight last night and now I am almost done. I better get online and reserve New Moon right now. I see the doctor on Wed and hopefully all will be well so I can have a slice of pumpkin or custard pie!
Oh, I forgot to also update that I am on bed rest. I am dilated 1 cm and that is way too early, so I am off work and off my feet for most of the day. I'll continue to update you on how that is going, as well. For now, I must reserve New Moon and take a nap. The glucose makes me unbelievably sluggish. I guess I'm coming off my sugar high.

Ugh, I hated doing the 3 hour test! I guess if I was reading Twilight it would've been more tolerable! Did you pass? Hope bed rest is going okay. Keep those babies inside!

Yikes, I can only imagine what the sugar crash from the 3 hour test is like! I only had the one glucola to drink ad I totally crashed from that! I hope the results were good!
