My husband has returned! After a 2 month long separation we are together again! Yes we were
separated...physically! Not marriage-wise or emotionally. I liked to joke about it with family & friends, but he didn't seem too pleased by it. Sorry, Bear. I am really happy to have him here. However, there are lots of adjustments. I got used to doing things on my own and not having to check in with anyone, so when he first got home I had to get used to planning with him to coordinate carpooling and things like that. He's been great, he set up our loft bed and wardrobes. Here's a quick pic of what our bed/office area looks like. Notice the purse on the floor (bottom right corner) that is my dream purse of how many years. I got it from my former colleagues, aunties, cousins, and grandparents. Bought from a collection of gift cards. This is my purse for life now.Junk news: Ollie is going to have surgery. There is some kind of growth on his head. It's just in the skin layer, not on bone or a huge, creepy lump. It's about the size of a pea. We're hoping it's just a fat deposit. His blood tests have come out fine. The vet just wants to get rid of it just in case. He's going to do that next Tuesday 10/7.
Whole Foods has opened at Kahala Mall. It's a crazy mess of people. Right now the best times to go are a 7 AM and 9 PM (an hour before closing). It was really nice inside, except that the second day it rained really hard and the skylights started leaking in the store. So, customers had to not only maneuver around each other, but also buckets that were used to catch the leaks. The produce was not that great, either. But, we did try their beef broccoli and that was very tasty.
We had an appointment yesterday with a new In Vitro practice recommended by our friends. The nurse and office staff were super nice. We heard the doctor was a bit short and stern as far as personality goes. But, that sounded just like our WA doc and we really liked him. Our appointment lasted 1.5 hours with just the nurse! However, she was gathering our history info and had a very informational power point presentation about their routines and procedures. They seem super thorough. We meet with the doctor next week. Scary!
I'm taking some `Olelo Hawai`i (Hawaiian language) classes after work. So, I will be sharing the ike (knowledge) that I learn. Here is your first lesson. When you are leaving and you want to tell people to drive safely, say: "kalaiwa pono `ea" (kah lai vah poh noh ay ah)
Okay, well I forgot what to say for closing and my notes are in the trunk of my carpool buddy's car. So, you'll have to wait for more Hawaiian next time!
