My first project off strict bed rest turned out to be a success. At our friend's Super Bowl party it was almost all gone and Jerm had a few servings. He said he liked it, but maybe he was being nice. However, the little that we had taken back home was gone the next night, so maybe he really did like it. I tried it, but found that it was too sweet for me. Weird! After months of avoiding sweets, my taste has changed slightly. I still like sweets, but cannot take too much of it. I have to water down certain juices sometimes. Ice cream seems to be just right for me, though. The one part that was unsuccessful was that I may have put the frosting on prematurely, while it was still a little warm and liquid-like. So, the four layers of cake kind of had a mini avalanche in the fridge. It made it appear more rustic looking. It still looked pretty good. I forgot to take a pic. But, next time I either have to wait until the frosting solidifies a little more or I have to reinforce it so it doesn't slide off each other.
I think for Bear's Valentine I will make it again, but keep it as a single layer and use cookie cutters to cut out little shapes and frost individually. That or Ina Garten's brownie pudding. I think I may try the brownie pudding tomorrow for a trial run and use my aunty and cousin as guinea pigs.
