Blood Draws

Blood draws were scheduled and taken. One was for Monday 6/29 and the other for Wednesday 7/1. Our nurse was supposed to call us around 2:00 on Wednesday to let us know.

While we were waiting we wondered what to do. Should we tell people? Since, the majority of our friends know that we went through another cycle recently, we knew there would be questions. So, the only fair thing would be to end the torture for everyone. We know that the first trimester is a very cautious time. We also knew that if we weren't pregnant it would be best to let people know so that they wouldn't feel uncomfortable around us. This blog has been a great way of informing people of our progress. Although it feels impersonal, you can see the ins and outs of in vitro at your leisure which is probably better than me calling you and telling you everything for hours!

So, while we waited for results I was still getting my progesterone shots, prenatal vitamins, taking my baby asprin, medrol, and metformin. I think the hardest part is the activity restriction. It's funny because they make it a point to say "no intercourse" everytime they remind me of this. Little do they know, that I really do not feel all that sexy anyway, so there are no worries in that department.

Wednesday came and we just kept ourselves really busy. My butt was really sore from the previous days shot. It felt like I did a million squats with my left leg. It was even sore to the touch! Did I mention that my foot has been really bothering me? Sometimes it gets so sore that I limp when I walk. One day my lower back was killing me. I thought, if I could just get out and exercise to get my body in shape! I also get really hot sometimes and my heart rate sky rockets with little exertion! Once, Ollie was lying next to me and I could swear he smelled like fish and it made me kind of sick (we feed him salmon oil for his skin and coat). Weird? Well....not really, we're pregnant! We are cautiously optimistic, we'll keep you posted!

WAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What were your betas? For the progesterone injections: heating pad for 10 min & heat up the vial of oil in your bra, then do injection, then deep massage for a few minutes, then heating pad for 10 more min.
